A perfect location for your pet-friendly self-catering staycation

The large bedroom is laid out for a maximum of 2 adults (double bed) and 2 children's single beds, but can accommodate three adults if you're all good friends!

The central location of our holiday apartment, in the heart of the beautiful village of Killyleagh, makes the it ideally situated for guests attending weddings and events at Dufferin Coaching Inn (50 metres away) or Tullyveery House and Finnebrogue Woods (2 miles away), or as a base for exploring the many areas of outstanding natural beauty nearby.

The apartment's private front door opens into the kitchen, with a back door into a secure courtyard, making it safe and dog-friendly. Upstairs is the bedroom and shower room.

There is Wi-Fi throughout and the whole site is protected by a connected smoke and fire alarm system.

We are dog and family friendly and look forward to sharing our house with you.


Family Bedroom

In addition to ample storage, the bedroom features a comfortable double bed with a new Dormeo memory foam mattress, and a large comfy sofa/daybed that converts into two single beds for the kids. There's also a TV with Amazon Fire, if you fancy a cosy evening in with a streaming movie.

The two original sash windows face the street and have both blackout blinds and insulated blackout curtains, so you can keep the daylight out until you're ready to face the world.

There is Wi-Fi throughout the apartment.

The low VOC laminate floors upstairs in this lovely old house are slightly "undulating" in places, that's how the Victorians built houses.

Fully-equipped kitchen

The kitchen was refurbished in the summer of 2022 and has a door to the rear courtyard and garden, and a front door onto the street, as well as the stairs to the first floor.

The redesigned space has low VOC laminate flooring, ample room for a family to sit and eat, and features all the amenities you'd expect:

  • Smeg electric oven
  • Ceramic hob with extractor
  • Microwave
  • Coffee machine
  • Kettle
  • Toaster

It should be noted that both entrances/exits have steps and the stairs are narrow and steep, so this may be challenging for people with limited mobility and is not suitable for wheelchair users. There is, unfortunately, nothing we can easily do about this because of the age and construction of the property.

Shower room

From the landing, the newly refurbished shower room features a large, walk-in shower cubicle with dual shower heads, a WC and basin.

The floors and walls are tiled with high quality, Italian ceramics and the floor tiles have a special "low-slip" texture for improved safety.

The horizontal bar, supporting the glass screen, provides a place to hang and dry wetsuits or raincoats without soaking the floors.

Secure Dog-Friendly Courtyard

The secure rear courtyard features a large table with ice-troughs and seating for 6 people.

It is fully gated off to keep your furry companions safely contained and has shady areas to keep them cool. The light coloured stones mean it is cool for their paws, even when the sun is baking down.

In late summer you can pick fresh apricots and plums straight from the trees.
